Opening Statement from the April 2016 Dividend Gems

In previous research we pointed to the positive correlation between oil pricing and stock market performance. Although oil sold off last month, the stock market continued to rise due to the dovish speech given by Federal Reserve Chair Yellen on March 16. The takeaway message from this meeting was that interest rate increases would likely be capped at 50 basis points in 2016. This has all been consistent with our forecasts and guidance.
